Clothes Donation | Itta bhatti | Report
Hello Everyone,
Following the completion of three stages of the cloth donation campaign by the Social Service Club, clothes were successfully donated to those in need.
On January 29, 2023, the club planned a distribution program to give away accumulated clothing to people working in Itta Bhatta, Harisiddhi. Nine individuals, including club members and participants, offered their time for the event, which was assisted by the parent of a member.
At 10 a.m., we boarded the vehicle from the Deerwalk Complex with the clothes the club had previously collected. We picked up our coordinators and a couple more bags of clothing when we got to the Kantipur Brick Factory around 11:30 a.m. We positioned the van so that we could see the factory there. The area ended up being considerably greater than we had planned, and we were amazed to see that humans and horses did all the work instead of some mechanized machinery in today's world.
We unloaded all the clothing in an area that was accessible to the workers. People soon began stopping by to look at the clothes in a huge pile during their breaks from work. To make it easier for people to choose clothing that would fit them and their families, we divided the clothing into sections according to age groups and gender. We were shocked to learn that there were more people there than we had anticipated. The workers began to collect their discoveries in bags and on their hands. Observing their happiness over things we seemed to take for granted made us more grateful for everything we have.
By 12:30 p.m., there was no clothing left, which disappointed the people having their break for the next shift. Since it was a new environment for us all, we cleared the area and spent some time exploring it. We went back to the van and enjoyed the juice and biscuits the club had provided as a gesture of gratitude for all of our hard work. The clothing donation campaign was a huge success.
